Environment Consciousness

By developing the consciousness for environment, and preventing people to throw paper into garbage, is after all decreasing the costs for moving and removing the rigid garbage, and saves health of the people working there. And it’s a truth that garbage removal systems strongly damage the environment.

Only 43% of the used paper in Turkey can be collected. But since the collecting process is not based on a modern system, some of this collected paper is provided by the people refining garbage. This situation has two obstacles. First, the quality of the paper mixed to garbage is low, and second, while sorting the paper garbage scatters around and harms the environment. Because of all these, a systematic collection system should be developed.

Furthermore, for increasing the recycling percent of paper, education of citizens are very important. In elementary school, topics like paper-forest and recovered paper relations should be covered. People need to be educated to collect papers in separate place than regular garbage.

Moreover, there should be more serious publications about recovered paper usage both in tv and newspapers. In the publications people should be educated about the following subjects;

Ø       Not to burn paper,

Ø       Types of paper that can be recycled,

Ø       Forest – waste relations,

Ø       How to store waste paper in households,

Ø       How to store waste paper in warehouses,

Ø       Material gains of collected waste paper,

Ø       How municipalities can support waste paper collection.
